Re-encountering Jesus with Dr. Jessie Rogers Lecturer in Sacred Scripture, St. Patrick’s College, Maynooth. Scoil an Chroí Naofa Society St. (near Barrett’s Hardware) Ballinasloe, 2.30 - 5.15 p.m. Sunday, March 5th, 2017. All Welcome.
If we are busy people or tend to have a lot on our minds Lent can easily pass us by and before we know it Holy Week and Easter Sunday have come and gone!
Such living carries its fair share of risk, especially for our well-being. Through this Gathering I invite you to stand back for a moment and to ponder God’s presence in your life and his personal word to you at this time.
When Jesus chose his disciples, he wanted them to spend time with him and to get to know him so that he could send them out to others with the Good News (Mark 3:14).
Today we are his disciples in this time and place but how well do we know him, how often do we spend quality time with him and could we benefit from drawing close to him again?
My thanks too to Jessie, a highly commended teacher, for her willingness to come to us, and to draw from sacred scripture, our living tradition and her own experiences as a wife, daughter, mother and teacher.
